Wutong Mountain is "Shenzhens Number One Mountain", the highest in the area. If you want to succeed in getting to the lofty summit you need an early start.
Thats why the CHN Travel Julongwa Hotel was the perfect choice for us. It was easy to book through Ctrip, and ideally situated on the M445 bus route from the Shenzhen Metro to Wutong Mountain Park Entrance. Just a short 10 minute bus ride.
Check-in caused a few difficulties, as our lack of Chinese meant we couldnt understand the problem. A quick call to Ctrip soon resolved the issue.
The room was very clean and comfortable, and we actually ended up booking a second night rather than rushing off home after our hike.
In the neighbourhood around the hotel we found a wonderful selection of shops and restaurants, as well as a bustling market. Our dinner of spicy vegetable noodles on the second evening cost us a grand total of 30RMB, and that included a large beer each too. Delicious.
We feel that the price we paid for the hotel represents a great deal, and we are happy to recommend staying here to any hikers heading up the mountain the next day. An early start is vital to avoid the midday heat. The only thing that would have really added to the experience would have been a breakfast at the hotel before the hike. It looks like the restaurant is currently being refurbished.
Maybe stay the night after your hike too, as we did, to relax and recuperate and to enjoy the trendy cafes and restaurants in Wutong Village at the base of the mountain entrance.[2019-04-04 02:28]
